First...This may be relevant... When the chart with fill effects-patterns is printed directly from Excel it is very distinct; however our use of these charts require that we paste the chart into Word as a picture and when printed (final image is black & white for inclusion in our published manuals) that is the image that is not distinct.
I apply fill effects-patterns (black & white variations) to my data points and the image looks distinct on the screen. When I print (Word)it out at 600 dpi the patterns disappear and I get similar shades in my data series. This makes it difficult to show distinct patterns when comparing between the legend and the data series. I even tried printing (Word) at 300 dpi and still did not achieve distinct patterns.
At one point our company was using Freelance which produced excellent distinct fill patterns when printed in Word, however, we are now using Excel exclusively and the pattern fills are not distinct enough.
Is there a way to fill these data points to ensure they are distinct when pasted into Word as a picture? Is there a source where I can purchase special fill effect patterns or can I make my own using: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Photoshop, Illustrator)?
Help!!!
