I'm trying to figure out how to get started on code to analysis training dates.

We have a large number of people that have to be trained every year. I trying to find a way to show how many people must be training per month inorder to keep everyone trained without letting anyone go overdue training.

Below are the heading that I am currently using in he file. I don't have any code as of yet ...

'Persons Name Office Training Item Training Completion Date Next Due
    'Person 1 10 Mar 02 10 Mar 03
    'Person 2 10 Apr 02 10 Apr 03
    'Person 3 01 Jan 02 01 Jan 03
    'Person 4 10 Jun 02 10 Jun 03

    Hello em

I read your post 4 times and I think a little more infomation would be needed to help you. What are the parameters of your coding, definition of overdue training, etc.

Care to post a spreadheet sample and your expected out come (most important)would be helpful. I see from your other posts that you have already been introduced to the Colo utility....it would sure help me better understand your requirement.

number of people needed to be trained per month = number of people / 12 !

On the assumption that this isn't the correct answer, care to elaborate on the extra parameters we need to consider...

I think I was putting to much thought into the project this morning, and think I have it figured out now, but would like a couple of things ...

    1. What formula would return "5 months and 10 days" in one cell and "5 months / 160 days" in another cell.

Those two questions apply to cell C10 and 11 on the spreadsheet shown here.

Try =DATE.DIFF(c8,c9,2)..for your first question ...this is an add on function found in http://longre.free.fr/english/

a similar function or a variation of the first may fit your needs on the second question. I am looking at that now

My answer came out with French abbbreviations...I may have downloaded the French version..
