I have a calculation in the cell
I have tools/options/calculate on manual
formula: =INDEX(A1:A20,RANDBETWEEN(1,COUNTA(A1:A20))) ..thanks Aladin.
I obtain a value, but when I go to save the file, the worksheet recalculates and changes the value.
Is there a way once I get my calculated value to erase the formula behind the cell and keep the value?
Thanks in advance!
Copy/Paste Special... Values
thank you very much
Nice one, so simple yet so effective, helped me a lot.
Thanks, this is helpful... I had a follow-up question, though. Is there any way to do this and also preserve hyperlinks? I have a formula that creates a hyperlink in column B out of a string in column A, and I want to be able to get rid of column A while preserving the values (and hyperlinks) in column B.
Copy/Paste special-values seems to strip the link itself (although it does leave the text blue and underlined.)
Thanks again in advance!
Also you can do one click on the cell that have the formula then click F2 ---followed by F9---- then click enter.
