"Difference From" on Pivot Tables

I have a "Difference From" and a "% Difference From" field that compares one month to the previous based on a date column grouped by month and year.

However, January never gets those fields populated because the year changes and so Excel can't find a "previous" entry (or so I think). Is there any way around this?
