How to unhide column A

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
There's a little square in between the A and 1 at the top left of the worksheet. Click on that to select all the cells and then go Format-Column-Unhide. Or put your mouse just to the right of it until it turns into a double line with arrows, then click and drag the column back out.

select column B. unhide. now select the left-most edge of col B & drag it to the right.

I did that once. All I did was slide the column width to the left of B to the right to reveal A

I had this to happen to me once, the sheet was corupt, ended up making a new sheet then deleted the old one, a trick I also found was to highlight all col. then select to size them. That will open all hidden col.

Hi,

Another option...

In the name box, type A1, which should put you in the hidden A1 cell. Then, unhide the column.

Sorry to reopen an old thread, but I just ran across the same problem but discovered why it might be happening (for some people).

In my case the column wasn't hidden at all - I had "Freeze Panes" selected and didn't realise.

So, before trying any of the above, check try unfreezing any frozen panes

Thank you, thank you! That's exactly what my problem was!
