Excel 2007: Data validation is on and the drop down list is no longer showing the little arrow. Data validation is still being enforced. Happened today while I was editing formulas. I version the workbook so I have screen shots where it is present and then where it's missing. I read some old posts about repairing but the file is .xlsm and Excel it won't work with that extension.

I also read some posts about copying to a new worksheet, all of the worksheets drop down arrrows have disappeared.

Panes are not frozen.

Can Excel fill bagel flavors?
You can teach Excel a new custom list. Type the list in cells, File, Options, Advanced, Edit Custom Lists, Import, OK
I kept googling and found it.

Excel Options -> Advanced -> Display options for this workboook -> For objects, show-> All

Nothing (hide objects) was checked.

I don't recall going in there and changing this but changing it back fixed it.

Yes, I had this exact same thing happen in 2010 and the above solution worked perfectly. Thank you so much for the post!
