Need Formula

i've got a list of 1500 part numbers that are in various forms ie. 3522778, 465878-0011, 310847, VICC

these are all turbocharger part numbers

these have been taken from a computer system and there are different multiples of each part number

what i want to do is create a formula that will tell me how many times the part number occurs in the column, hence saving me physically going down the column and counting them

i bought a book but the useless piece of shi* has been no use whatsoever

can anyone help me before i pull out all of my hair

say your parts are in Column A and you want the quantity in Column B

in A1 say part 10

in B1 = Countif(A:A,A1)

and copy the formula down column B.
