    Default Enter a number or amount automatically on a specified date

    Is there a code that I can use that will automatically enter a number in a cell on a specified date? For example, if I have an employee who receives 40 hrs of Vacation time on the first of May can I make excell enter that number automatically by palcing a function in an adjacent cell or something?

    If you are using today as the measure, place the first formual in cell A1 and the next formula in cell B1.

    =TODAY()

    =IF(A1>=DATE(2003,5,1),"40 Hours Earned","Not at 40 Hours Yet!")

    Obviously, you can play around with the message, but this should do the trick based on what you asked.
