I have been given the job of developing a new report. I am confused on the best route to take. There is daily information entered in 6 catagories in one workbook. My job is to develop a separate workbook that will be automatically updated with each entry. I have considered a 3D cell Reference but wonder if this is the best solution.

Thank you

Hi lctrues:

Just wondering -- have you considered DATA|Consolidate!

Hi lcrutes:

Why don't you go to your summary sheet, select the cell where you want to start delineating the entries to be summed, then click on DATA, then click on Consolidate -- a dialog box will pop up, asking you to delineate what values have to be consolidated -- you delineate the entries by clicking on the appropriate sheet, and then the specific cell(s) in that sheet, then click on ADD, and then point to the next sheet and the appropriate cell on that sheet, and so on.

Re: Data entered in Workbook - Consolidated in Another Workb

Hi,
I consolidated the Three number rows to get the cumulative total. The number rows will be updated daily. How do I continiously add the new subtotal to the cumulative total. I have If statements in the number rows so its more complicated than summing the daily numbers. The Number can only be 1 or 0. Thank you so much (this is a sample the original is much too large to email)
