Hi There

I was wondering if someone can help???

After trawling the internet I am at a loss.

I need a macro that will automatically merge vertically adjacent cells that are identical within a column (either excluding blanks, or for highlighted areas only to prevent the macro merging the remainder of the worksheet)

Thanks in advance for your help :eek:)

Welcome to the board

This code will do the job for column A, but you can easily change this.

Code:
Sub merge()
    col = "A"
    lr = Cells(Rows.Count, col).End(xlUp).Row
    fr = 1
    tr = 1
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Application.DisplayAlerts = False
    Do Until fr >= lr
        Do While Cells(tr + 1, col) = Cells(fr, col)
            tr = tr + 1
        Loop
        Range(Cells(fr, col), Cells(tr, col)).merge
        fr = tr + 1
        tr = fr
    Loop
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    Application.DisplayAlerts = True
End Sub
