G'day,

I have two pairs of numbers to graph over 12 months plus a 5th for budget.
I want to report the total spend each month for Dept. A and Dept. B in one stacked column and total spend this month last year for Dept. A and B in a second stacked column beside the first. Ultimately I'd like 2 stacked columns for each month plus a line for the budget all in one graph.

I can see my way to one pair of numbers in a stacked column plus the budget series as a line. Threrfore, I think I could have a second pair as stacked lines (e.g. last year) but what about my budget? Have tried to put the second paid for the second stacked column on the secondary axis but then the columns overlap/cover one another.

Is this possible in Excel2000?

Thanks in advance, Bruce

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
G'day, Bruce -

Do you mean you want clustered-stacked columns? You can make a clustered stacked column chart through clever arrangement of your data in the worksheet. See the details at Stephen Bullen's site:
http://www.bmsltd.co.uk/Excel/SBXLPage.asp#Charting
and look at the description for FunChart4

or at Bernard Liengme's site:
