1. ## Formula that sums shift schedules

I need a formula that sums the number of schedules that fall into specific time slots Here is some sample data:

ColA contains the schedule; 7-3:30, 7:30-4:00, 8:00-5:00, 10:00-7:00, 2:00-12:00.

I want a formula that will count the number of shifts that fall into the following categories; 7-3:30, 10:00-7:00, 2:00-12:00. SO with the data above the formula for 7-3:30 would return 2 (the 7 o'clock shift and the 7:30 shift). Can I use something like this =COUNTIF(A2:A32, "7-3:30" OR "7:30-4:00").

Anyone have a better way?

Thanks,

Chuck

2. ## Re: Formula that sums shift schedules

=SUMPRODUCT((\$A\$2:\$A\$32="7-3:30")+(\$A\$2:\$A\$32="7:30-4:00"))
