HI,

I have a column filled with salesperson codes eg 63A, 63B, 63C etc...
But I also have in that column without an A or a B etc at the end.

I have written the following if statement: =if(right(d1) <> "A", if(right(d1)<>"B" etc......)

Surely there is a way to work out if the right character is a letter or a number and then I would have if the right of d1 is character then do whatever if it is a number do whatever?

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
Loren,

Coercions are somewhat more efficient than functon calls:
i
=ISNUMBER(--RIGHT(B2))

...marginally useful, but thought I'd point it out...
