Hi,

Is there a way, to have only the print area viewable when one opens a spreadsheet? I would like to have ONLY my data visable when my boss opens the spreadsheet. I've opened a spreadsheet before, that had what looked like a page break. The back ground was grey, and only the page with data was visible. When I hit page break, my page becomes very small and it's placed in the left hand top corner. I would like the page view to fit the screen. Is this posibble?

Thanks

Diana

Hi Diana

You can hide all the columns and rows outside the print area. Only the print area will be visible and you get the grey background you mention.

Thank you Pgc01. I have another question if I may. How many rows in Excel 2007? AND, is there an easier way to get to the bottom of the worksheet, other than scrolling? I'm at over 70,000 rows and it's not ending. I would like to hide them all, except for the first 25 rows.

For ex. lets say you want to hide rows after 25

Method 1

- select row 26
- with CTRL and SHIFT down press the down key

this selects all rows 26 to the end

with the mouse pointer in that zone right click and choose hide

Method 2

In the name box write:

26:1048576

and press enter. This selects all rows 26 to the end. Now you can hide them

Remark: the number of rows in excel 2007+ is 2^20 = 1048576
