Default Copying and pasting data in the correct row - Match Tool?

I'm sure this question has already been answered someplace, but I don't know excel terminology well enough to find it so please help!

I have a list of upc codes with dollar sales data for each. On another sheet I have a list of upc codes with unit sales data for each. Some of the upcs are missing on either sheet. What I want to do is create a new column on the dollar sales sheet and fill it with the unit sales data, causing N/A to appear in the cells for which there is no match between the upcs for dollar sales and unit sales. I hope this makes sense to you all.
I know there is a relatively easy way to do this -- someone showed me how years ago! But for now I'm at a loss.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks!

Use the VLOOKUP function - check it out in the help file. That should do the trick. If you can't get it to work post back.
