Hello All -
I've been creating a spreadsheet that uses a few shapes in the design. Haven't had any issues with the ability to insert or edit these existing shapes until today. Now the Insert Shapes button is greyed out, as well, the existing shapes on the sheet cannot be edited. I have searched this behaviour and have read a few of the solutions, but none are working. I have tried the following:
- made sure the sheet is neither grouped nor protected
- the workbook is not shared
- Display Options For This Workbook is selected to show ALL objects

If I have a colleague open the file on their computer, it works fine and Insert Shapes are not greyed out, and functionality is working as normal

I can open other workbooks, and everything is working as it should, so there is something about this particular file that I'm missing that is causing this to happen.

Any thoughts?
Thanks very much.

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
Sorry, just to add to the info for a complete picture, I am using Excel 2010 on Windows 7.

OK - so, it seems to have fixed itself after a system reboot. Still don't understand what was happening, but it's fixed now.
