I am looking for some advice on creating a calender in excel that will read text dates in a spreadsheet and then transpose them into a calender. For example corporate has provided a list of 200+ employees by name and the corresponding vacation request days (see below for format). I would like for another spreadsheet in another tab to apply those dates into a calender and then have a conditional format for overlapping dates to change color.
NAME (LAST,FIRST_MI)EMP IDLOCATIONTDY LOCATIONSTATUSR&R DEPART (D/MM/YR)R&R RETURN (D/MM/YR)

jquerry,

Maybe this small scale example will help you on your way..

I have included a marker whick you can use to show conflict within a given status. If that is not required then make the marker for all employees say H and it will highlight conflict regardless of status.
