I have windows 2000 with excel 2002
I am putting a chart together and I have two problems I need to solve.
1. I am using a bar graph to represent a % change in data. The % is a negative # and I want the error bar to continue in the negative direction. When i tried to manually change the # to a negative value i get an error message saying the # must be a positive #. Any suggestions?

2. I have a legend in which I need to have a label with times new roman with a one letter symbol at the end. I need PKC a with the a being the greek alpha. Can i do this, how?

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Hi:

Are the numbers you are charting restricted in the cell in any way by conditional formatting or cell validation?

You should be able to use the Custom option on the error bars to implement negative values either a fixed amount or if they vary, create a range of cells and reference that.

Regard changing the font in the legend. Looking at the LegendEntry object in the Object Browser, it appears that there is no text child object / property. So no way to isolate specific characters and alter the font, i.e. the font for the legend text is homogenous - all Arial, all Symbol. Could drop a borderless textbox object with the a over it, I suppose.
