Whennever I open an excel documnet it opens for a few seconds then it shuts down.

I am running MS XP pro and office 200. This has only started happening recently. Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it?

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
try running Excel in Safe mode.

select

Start/Run/ and type Excel /safe

then try to open the workbook.

I tried running in safe mode but exactly the same thing happens - it opens for a few seconds then closes.

Is it when you open a specific workbook or just when you launch Excel.

If excel starts fine but then craashes when you open the file, try opening a fresh workbook and creating external references formulas to access your data.

You can also get the Excel viewer from microsoft's website for free and open the file in the viewer then copy and paste the data into a fresh workbook.

Hi,

Unregister and then register Excel again.

Run following command from the Run:
"excel.exe" /unregserver

Reboot the machine
Run following command from the Run:
"excel.exe" /regserver

You might need to add the full path to the exe-file.

Kind regards,
Dennis
