Does anyone know of an add-on or utility that helps import a pdf file into Excel?. Alex

Excel Facts

Can you AutoAverage in Excel?
There is a drop-down next to the AutoSum symbol. Open the drop-down to choose AVERAGE, COUNT, MAX, or MIN
Hi:

Might try searching on "PDF import"...

I think there is an Acrobat product...."Distiller" that might be what you are looking for....as I remember I had used it and still had a lot of editing to cope with......not 100% accurate...

How much data are you looking to do?

Thanks for your response. The amount of data varie from 1 page to 20 pages. I have automated a process where different levels management get a report in pdf format via their e-mail and a number of them would like a copy of the report in excel format.

Hi:

If it is a repetitive kind of thing, I would look for another long term type solution...coverting these pdf files is not a completely reliable process..

hope this helps

We use and like a product called EDI Link connect. Its a web service that allows us to email the PDF to their server and it emails us back the Excel file. We convert some complex PDFs so we couldn't use one of the generic converters. Here is a link if you are interested:
