Linking Chart Series name

Hi Guys,

I have a chart Series name which I would like to have both linked to a cell+manual typing in additional description.

For example
Cell A1 = "Headcount"
Series name = A1&"Budget" (unfortunately it doesn't work inside the chart series name)

Any idea how to do the above?

See if this works for you (Excel 2007 or higher).

click on then series in the chart.
-right click - SELECT DATA
-choose series you want to link
-click on EDIT
Then in the Series Box link Series Name to the cell with your new name.

Not sure I understand. Couldn't you link to say cell B1 and have B1 = A1&" Budget".

Thanks but it only shows how to link the series name to a cell, not linking+additional manual wordings.
Using the example in the website you provided, I want to have the series name "BBC 1 (which is cell link)"+ the word "Budget"

AhoyNC already gave you the solution.

Use an auxiliary cell.

Ex., in B1:

=A1&" Bugget"

Link the series name to B1

Now if you type something in A1, B1 will update and so will the series name.
