I'm trying to set up a formula to forecast depreciation expense for future months. The current year (2015) is simple. I'd like to set up the formula to adjust based on the years 2016 - 2018. Listed below is an example for illustration purposes.

Date Placed into Service Remaining Life Life in Months Monthly Depreciation 2015 2016 2017 2018
2/1/2011 8 60 3,000
10/1/2011 16 60 11,404
1/1/2014 19 36 30,357
9/1/2012 27 30 2,000

CHuguley,

We need more information-

1. what depreciation method are you using? straight line, deminishing balance, other?
2. what is the def'n of remaining life? (years?)
3. what is the def'n of Life in Months? (what is the relationship to 'remaining life'?)
4. can you do a calculation that shows what you expect the amounts to be for 2015, 2016, etc
