.Range("A:B") vs .Columns("A:B")

Excel Facts

Who is Mr Spreadsheet?
Author John Walkenbach was Mr Spreadsheet until his retirement in June 2019.
Is there any advantage to this code:

Code:
With Worksheets("Sheet1")
  .Range("A:B").NumberFormat = "0.00"
End With

vs

Code:
With Worksheets("Sheet1")
  .Columns("A:B").NumberFormat = "0.00"
End With

or vice versa?

Thanks!

Hi gers1978,

I may well be mistaken here but I do not think there is any real different (efficiency wise) between those 2 codes as they are basically just 2 methods of doing exactly the same thing.

I stick with Range("A:B") as you get the intellisense when you type the period after it. You don't on Columns("A:B")
