Can you dynamically change a link's destination?

I want a cell to contain a link that changes its destination (to another tab in the same worksheet) based on what a user selects in another cell.

The logic goes like this:

  1. In cell B6, if Value1 is selected in G1, go to ABC_Tab.
  2. In cell B6, if Value2 is selected in G1, go to XYZ_Tab.
  3. Otherwise, remain blank.

So one cell (B6) that contains the URL (with changing friendly name), that changes its destination based on the value in G1.

I tried to change the cell references based on the value selected, but that does not carry over the behavior of a link. It looks like a link, but doesn't act like a link.

Is there a way to do this with a formula?
