Average in Pivot Table NOT Match Average Using Average Function

Have the following sums:

282,257
269,595
309,007
288,795
277,719
297,628
299,707
298,320

The above yields 289,244 using =AVERAGE(D8:O8); K8-O8 are blank.

In Pivot Table yields 290,379.

Would appreciate explanation and if possible a way to fix. I have searched in vain for answer including Mr Excel Library Pivot Table Data Crunching for Excel 2013. Thanks!

Check your "blank" values and make sure they are not zero.
If they have a value of zero they will be averaged into the other values, if they are "null" they will be excluded.
290,379 seems to be the correct value.

Thank you for the help. However still not been able to crack this nut. I found another post in Mr Excel, http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-questions/685798-average-while-ignoring-zeros-errors.html, and tried both suggestions and both confirm the result of 289,244 using =AVERAGE(D8:O8); K8-O8 are blank. Only the Pivot returns 290,379.
