Microsoft Word page numbers

For some reason, when I place a page number on page 1 it shows as page 2 and of course continues down the document as page 2 showing as page 3 and so on.

I've removed all section breaks and I can't find a fix. Any suggestions?

Copy formula down without changing references
If you have =SUM(F2:F49) in F50; type Alt+' in F51 to copy =SUM(F2:F49) to F51, leaving the formula in edit mode. Change SUM to COUNT.

Did you check the 'start at' setting (see Header & Footer Tools>Design>Header & Footer panel>Page Number>Format Page Numbers)?
