    Default Enter Parameter Value

    Hey All!

I took a template from Office online and took bits out and added bits in.

Now every Time i open a form it asks for

    Enter Parameter Value
    ContactID

I have looked in every form, query etc etc and cannot find this anywhere, its getting very irritating.

Basically all i want is a minimal CRM type database!

Look at the Control Source of that form (it should be a table or query).
That message usually means one of two things:
    1. The Control Source is a Paramater Query (or a Query that uses a Parameter Query);
    2. The "ContactID" field does not exist in the Control Source.
    TIPS FOR FINDING EXCEL SOLUTIONS
    1. Use the built-in Help that comes with Excel/Access
    2. Use the Search functionality on this board
    3. A lot of VBA code can be acquired by using the Macro Recorder.

It exists somewhere on your report. Check the "Sorting and Grouping" icon. That is often the culprit. If it does not show up there, check all text boxes (especially ones that are calculated).

If the form is based on a query, open the query in design view, choose Query-Parameters from the menu and make sure it's not listed in there (even if it's not used, you'll get prompted)

There are no Queries, they have all been deleted, it is still requesting the information.

What is the Recordsource for the form and how are you opening it - manually by double-clicking it, or using code?

What controls do you have on the form and have you checked the control source for each one (especially any SQL statements that are the row source for any comboboxes or listboxes you may have)
Incidentally, which template was it and which form are you looking at?
