Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
Hi,
Access runtime is free :) You can modify data in an mdb file with ADO as well (not necessarily graphical, but you can write your own forms application).

You can also use Excel to modify an MDB file but that requires coding to retrieve and update records.
Note that if you use the Access runtime it's fine for viewing / manipulating data, but you don't get to design new forms, queries, charts etc. For that you need the full version.
