I tried following along, adding a control to a ribbon...;

I was unable to add ".zip" to the end of my ".xlsm" document...;

What I get is a document with the following extension: ".zip.xlsm";

So I'm unable to access the file structure...;

Any suggestions?;

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
After you save the file with a .xlsm extension, close it. Then find the file in Windows Explorer, and rename it with .zip on the end. Now you can look inside the save file to see the individual elements. Once you're done, remove the .zip from the file. You can now try to reopen the file with Excel. Depending on what changes you've made, it may or may not work.

Good luck.

You probably need to turn on extensions in Windows.
Depending on Windows and your configuration: in the File Explorer, go to Tools, folder Options and on the View tab and uncheck "Hide extension of known file types"

I recommend leaving that setting because you can see the true extension of your file types. Without it, for example, you could download what you think is a pdf, but is actually an exe.
