Difference between two dates
Secret function! Use =DATEDIF(A2,B2,"Y")&" years"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"YM")&" months"&=DATEDIF(A2,B2,"MD")&" days"

If you simply want to calculate same period last year, there is a built in function sameperiodlastyear

Your link is not open to the public. However, this is an Excel board, and those aren't Excel functions you posted. Are you trying to do something equivalent in Excel that you do in Google Docs?
Scott this DAX function
Which we use in powerpivot for excel 2010 and 2013
Xlbob I try sameperiodlastyear but I don't know why it isn't work

Should probably switch to Public access on the google doc. I requested access though.

SAMEPERIODLASTYEAR will require a calendar table (a table with a date column that contains EVERY day, no just days you have transactions). You have one?

Hrmmm.... so, somebody with better international experience might have to help here. I'm in the US, and mostly ignore these problems :)

What is happening, is you are trying to treat these as Jan 1, Feb 1, Mar 1... but PowerPivot is trying to treat them as Jan 1, Jan 2, Jan 3.
1/1/2014 12:00:00 AM
1/2/2014 12:00:00 AM
1/3/2014 12:00:00 AM

And all heck is breaking loose because of it. Everything worked as expected when I avoid that...
