Power Pivot installation on my Vista PC

I was surprised to see that the Excel-2010 Power Pivot installation requires Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 and is over 121 MB!?!
I'm just an Excel home user and am worried that this may slow down my Excel to a crawl, so do I really need Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 R2 ?
I'm wondering if there is a different link from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=7609 that I should be using?

Thanks,
Dan

You don't need SQL Server (it doesn't say you do, that I can see) and it's 91MB for the 32bit installation - unless you have 64bit Office, in which case it is 121MB but I'm not sure why that's a problem?

RoryA,

Thanks for your reply.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, but my concern was what does SQL Server have to do with Power Pivot? I assumed the 121 MB (I have Office 2010/64b) included SQL Server and would prefer not to install it if it wasn't a requirement. But if I understood you correctly, your reply suggested that the 121 MB file does not include SQL Server.

Finally, is Power Pivot meant for the home user or for businesses? In no way do I ever plan to create a million row xls - only a few thousand at best - so I'm wondering if this overkill. My only interest in installing Power Pivot is in hopes of clearing up a pivot table problem which could only be remedied if I reduced the number of rows (from 3783 to <2500).
