Power BI Desktop - newbie questions

Power BI Desktop requires a "work e-mail address" to log into. Does somebody from my place of employment need to set this up for me or can I enter it on my own?

If I created a project at work and published it, would it be saved on a MS server somewhere?

How would a person in a corporate environment in a non IT department be able to use Power BI desktop without going through the red tape of getting approval to publishing corporate data that is hosted externally?

Is there any way of creating an account without divulging my work email address for the purpose of learning it on my own at home?
