How do I retrieve my columns view?
Is it possible that you dragged the window (separator)down, making the upper window very large? I just tried to duplicate your situation. at least make the query design such that I couldn't see the fields(grid) at the bottom of the of the screen. If I go to the bottom edge of the upper window and drag the separator down, I can make it so I don't see the grid of fields.

Don't know if this is what you have?
