Is it possible to have a cell containing the current date/ti

I'd like to have a cell in my workbook that shows the current date and time or either of the two. Can you tell me how to do this?

Format as m/dd/yyy hh:mm. This will show the date and time the formula was entered. Need to hit F9 to recalculate.
