How can I customize the autofilter? I am trying to make a spreadsheet of people for this volunteer program, so i want to have one column with their last name, then first, and then who they are assigned to. I want them to be able to search in the "last name" category alphabetically, and then by the specific group they are assigned to, like all the people in Orange group, etc... Any ideas???

If I understood correctly your Name column consists of Last, First...

If so, use a Custom AutoFilter on this column with "begins with" and the 1st letter of the last name of interest.

Filtering doesn't disturb the pre-existing order of the rows. It merely displays the relevant ones.

Ok, so essentially i need to just type them in in alphabetical order, and then just worry about the filering for the rows of what "Group" they are assigned to, in order to show all the people in group "A" or all the people in group "B"...Correct?

Essentially, yes. But, you don't have to type them in alphabetical order. Just type 'em in and the use Excel's Data | Sort... menu command to re-order 'em.

You can also use my suggestion above to show all the W's in group A.
