I have a pivot table created from data from a database in excel and i need to create a macro that will select just the cells containing data input in the present and/or last month. i cannot group the data as it is imported from an outside source. please help i have 3 weeks to hand in this project!

Why do you say you cannot group your data by dates just because it's imported. If you dates are imported as text you can convert then by copying a number 1 from any cell, select you dates then Pastespecial multiply. If there are numeric and you still cannot group them it is most likely because you Pivot Table data range includes blank cell in the date column.
