I regularly create customized charts in one workbook that refer to specified cell ranges in one of the worksheets of this workbook. It would be very convenient if I could use the customized graphs in another workbook that uses a similar layout but contains different data. Simple copyng and pasting of the charts does not work since the references to the original workbook keep existing. Is there a simple solution to transfer charts from one workbook to another where references to the cells remain valid but references to the original workbook are deleted?

Have you tried Copying the chart object from your 1st worksheet and the using Paste Special... Formats onto the chart object(s) of your 2nd worksheet?
