Hi again,
I try to use softs for what they are at best: Excel to manipulate dates and tasks names, MS Project to display the GANTT chart (although I used to play with conditional formatting in Excel too. However I am at a loss to try to dump Excel dates into MS Project (using in MS Project the Open-Map from Excel file): whatever I do, MS Project considers the dates of Excel as text and not dates (I tried and checked carefully the cell format): therefore the import of data from Excel to MS Project does not work. I even tried to export dates from MS Project to Excel, and the Map keeps on saying the dates of MS Project are text field!!! How can I overcome this? Is there any patch to use with Excel or MS Project? Thanks for any reply |

I've used project some: have you tried copying the whole column of dates from excel and PASTING them into Project? That might work...
