I was just wondering how to become a "Trusted Source" for a machine to avoid macro messages altogether.
Thanks all Chris |

Also, is there a way to change macro securities from another macro?

One way is to pay Verisign $400 for their Office VBA Macro signing certificate.
Then, you can sign all of your projects for one year.

So, there is no way to create my own certificate, backed by no one, so that for my office workers they can see that it is me and not worry about a "Reliable Certificate?"

You can "self-sign", but my understanding is that the security (at least on XP) may not accept it if their security is set to High. The help file seems to say it is a corporate setting.
There is a whole topic in the Excel help which explains this. Let me see if I can find it. Yes - search for "Digital Signature" in help, then look at the topic for "Add a Digital Signature for a file or macro project" Here is the relevant part: Because a digital certificate you create yourself isn't issued by a formal certification authority, macro projects signed by using such a certificate are referred to as self-signed projects. Depending on how Microsoft Office digital-signature features are being used in your organization, you might be prevented from using such a certificate, and other users might not be able to run self-signed macros for security reasons. _________________ MrExcel.com Consulting [ This Message was edited by: MrExcel on 2002-03-15 07:03 ] |
