I am wondering if anyone has experience with using Excel to implement a survey? I have a project where an electronic survey would be desirable - better still, if the user's input could be tabulated in a single column on a worksheet and e-mailed back to me.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone with experience with this...tips, pitfalls and an example would be helpful! Thanks in advance. |

Thanks, Steve...I am looking for some further aspects of this...where the responses are collected from clicking on radio buttons or drop-down lists, then these responses automatically collected on a background data sheet, which is then automatically routed for emailing. Anyone have anything this complicate?

If all of the participants are internal and and have access to a shared drive, the Template Wizard with Data Tracking works wonderful. If not, you can still use the template and have them email a completed form to you . You will then have to open and save each one to update the database, but you can automate that with a macro

Has anyone seen an actual functional system that does it all...collects, summarizes, compiles a summary worksheet (manual addition sounds yucky, although it beats paper-based surveys!), emails the summary sheet, etc?

I would be very interested in seeing a sample of this method. I'm creating a survey to gather some benchmark data and would like create it in Excel then email it to the participants. Any help would be appreciated.

I have had to create a survey in excel recently. What helped the most was http://www.fontstuff.com: If you will go to the download section, There is a userforms download. Very good for starting a survey form in excel.
If you would like to peak at the excel workbook that my sister and I have been working just let me know. cearamerkle@yahoo.com |
