how do you hyperlink to different rows in the same document

Can anybody tell me how you can create a hyperlink of somekind in Cell A200 that allows the user to go from row 200 back to row 5?

To go cell A200 and select Insert/Hyperlink (or press control+k).

When the dialog box comes up, you will have several choices of what to link to on the left-hand side of it. Choose "Place in this document."

In the box "text to display," type "Go back to A5" or whatever you want.

In the box "type the cell reference," just enter "A5" (without the quotes.)

Click OK, then you've got a hyperlink!

yeppers, we like hyperlinks....

also, if A5 is a named range, you can specify the name range in the hyperlink (sometimes easier to remember than the actual cell reference)

ie "Summary_Heading" or "start_cell" if you have lots of hyperlinks all over the place that point back to it

Funnily enough I needed to know how to do this as well, but am having trouble labelling the hyperlink. I press CTRL + K and I dont get the option of TEXT TO DISPLAY so my hyperlink is called "SheetA1!"

Why is this?

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using Excel 2000. I can't remember how it works exactly on 97 (if that's what you're using).

Anyone else care to chime in on this one?

Yeah, Excel 97 is WAY basic compared to 2000 when it comes to hyperlinks. But, really, all you have to do is type your label in the cell where you want the link before you make the link. It'll take whatever's in there as the link label.

Then, under "Named location in file," you can just type in the cell where you want to go.
