Last week I posted a message saying that for my iCT coursework I have to do something where I can get a league table to automatically update by typing in my football league's results. I was told to research RANK, VLOOKUP and IF but I'm still no clearer.
Here is the table. Pos. Teamn P W D L F A Gd Pt 1 Beighton 15 14 1 0 82 23 59 43 2 Greasbrough 14 12 0 2 67 25 42 36 2 Crosspool 16 11 3 2 52 36 16 36 4 Porter 15 9 2 4 44 29 15 29 5 Holly Bush 13 6 1 6 41 36 5 19 6 Ecclesall 14 4 6 4 37 37 0 18 7 Harthill 14 5 2 7 37 43 -6 17 7 Harthill Dyn 17 5 2 10 56 67-11 17 9 Tickhill 17 5 0 12 40 65-25 15 10 Rose House 15 4 1 10 39 53-14 13 11 Penistone 14 2 3 9 31 46-15 9 11 Monk Bretton 18 2 3 13 29 95-66 9 That is my Sunday league side's league table, I play for Greasbrough. Anyway, any help in idiot terms would go a long way for me. HOW DO I GET THE TABLE TO UPDATE ITSELF BY TYPING THE RESULTS IN! Please help. Ive got 4 weeks to design the system and all the documentation for the coursework. |

I've built a nifty score-standings management tool for both my spring football (American football, that is) league and for tracking the NFL; it requires manual entering of scores, but after that everything else is automated with VLOOKUPs and other fun stuff - I don't use RANK, however. If your assignment requires using RANK, that's something we'll have to build into it.
If you'd like to see the tool, email me and I'll send it to you. We can go forward if you think it looks like it's doing something like what you want. [ This Message was edited by: Duane on 2002-03-19 12:47 ] |

Van N,
I don't think I *told* you to, I believe I suggested you research them... I also suggested my premiership league table which does exactly what you want using those single 3 functions ! It's still here if you want it |
