In Excel 2000 the Go To window pops up by itself. It can called upon normally by Ctrl-G but this is disrupting the process. The spreadsheet never used to have this problem but has just appeared and seems to when it pops up disrupt other programs. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you. |

Make sure your "F5" key isn't stuck down.

Thank you but that doesn't seem to be the problem. When the window pops up by itself clicking cancel only causes it to pop up again and again.

Have you got any macros running on this spreadsheet?

Yes, they are enabled but I do not know what they are (I never made the spreadsheet).

Do me a favour then. Open the spreadsheet up and when it asks to Enable/Disable macros then choose to disable them. If the Go To box doesn't come up, then I think we've found the culprit.

Hi Mark. The operators use the macros for there is about 11 different sub-sheets in each spreadsheet that places data in different areas. These spreadsheets have been used for the last 2 years and only in the last couple of days has this problem arised.

Did you try disabling the macros though? It could be that someone has recently taken a notion to try to "improve" your existing macros.

Hi again Mark. I checked on the macros and the newest one is dated in 1999 and the computer's clock is correct.

Where is the macro dated? As a comment in the code or as when the last time worksheet was saved?
Barring sticky keys or a macro running the GoTo box, I haven't been able to work out what the problem is. Have you tried disabling the macros in the workbook? |
