Where do the Wizards go to find this stuff? Is there a book that tersely lists all the properties of the various Excel objects? For example if I want to control the visible property of a text box named "Text Box 1" what is the correct syntax and constants?
Thanks! Rocjy |

It can also be beneficial if there is no one in your office that is particularly outstanding with excel and VBA, as you can become the wizz in such a short period of time. Very soon, they will come up to you asking you to do all sorts of stuff with macros, which is great. Not only will you be challenged more at work, but you will be learning a powerful skill for yourself which you can put on your CV when applying for your next job.
Oh, not forgetting the ego boost you get when u can make an enormous task just happen by just clicking a button |

Sorry guys I can't agree with your simplistic approach. You would have us gather the children around the hearth to memorize the stories of the elders. (With the single exception of Tom's suggestion) Or experience things through some ritual initiation. I am an elder. I fact I am very elder. All my years have led me to believe the only thing that got us where we are today is the ability to put our experiences down on paper (or whatever) and share them with others. Mr. Guttenberg’s invention of the printing press changed everything.
Thank you all for your time I really appreciate the responses. I am disappointed nobody can name a decent book. Rocky… PS I do listen here and elsewhere and I do answer questions also. |
