I have a small time book that has a lot of equations in it but not a lot of info... Every time I try to save it or do calculations it takes over a minute... This doesn't seem like regular excel behavior.. Any suggestions?

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Dear concreteinterface,

I doubt that Excel is supposed to work that slowly, or haven't you upgraded your machine since 1998? Try buying an i487 co-processor - that should speed up your Excel a bit.

Seriously, it seems extremely 'unsmart' to fill in that many formulaes with no actual content - and Excel is not used properly here. Better is to have them filled-in dynamically from VBA scripts, or even to have the calculations done within VBA and to have only the actual data stored on the spreadsheets.

If you don't know how (yet), try recording the manual sequence of copying a row with formulaes to the next row as a macro and start analyzing the code.

Good Luck!

My computer is fine and I'm using 2007... VBA is a little over my head right now but I did try something out...

I didn't create this spread sheet format so I've been making some edits so its all easier to see and read.. I shortened the names of the worksheets down and it seems to be running faster.. So from MONDAY TIME to MON... It seems to help the speed of sheet to sheet edits but the file is still 18.1MB... Any other quick suggestions?

Well I think I got it.. I noticed in the title bar that the file was in compatibility mode so I went to my excel 2007 bible and looked it up.. When I saved it as a 2007 file it went from 18.1MB to 1.92MB... Much better.. Sorry for the freak out but it could be good fyi
