This is a variation on other randon sampling techniques...
I have a worksheet with the entire population in Worksheet("SegmentA"), with around 1,000 rows. I have already calculated for the statistically valid sample size "n" and it is in Worksheet("Stats"). Now, if n=70, how can I generate a subset of Worksheet("SegmentA") with only 70 records instead of 1,000? The sample data can also be pasted in the same Worksheet("SegmentA"), like in Column R. Please? Anyone? Thanks, Christina |

Have you tried TOOLS|DATA_ANLYSIS|SAMPLING|Sampling_Method ... Random, Number of samples =70 and get the output on a specified output range, a New Worksheet Ply, or a new Workbook. HTH Please post back if it works for you ... otherwise explain a little further and let us take it from there!

Thanks, Yogi -
I have, but the people who will eventually use the model are not really that sophisticated. That's why I need to put a macro in to do it for them systematically. Christina |
