Every time a person opens a excel 97 file, the file opens twice, 1 being the actual file and the other being a backup copy. Problem is that when you make changes to the file, you cannot save your changes because the file is in use by the backup copy.
Any ideas on what the problem may be? |

Hi --
Nice question! OK try this remane the back up to whatever_OLD and save we can recover it if needs be but just need it out the way. Now open the doggy original makie sure just one click? Now one or two copies opened. Svae and create new back up at same time this will allow the save procedure. Now close deo close excel and re boot cold boot that is leave off make a coffe and re boot.. ope the doggy file what happens. if it works enter test in cell a1 or whatevers not used you can easy delete soon and save, OK and backup updated ok? If so that should do it. Also delete test in cell A1 Rdgs
