Runtime Error with QueryTables under Vista

Hi MrExcel

I have a macro that has run with no problems on my XP machine for many months. Since I replaced it with a Vista machine the macro will not execute.

The macro uses QueryTable to retrieve data from websites, paste the table data into a sheet and calculate from there. However under the new setup the macro
- opens and displays the web page for the first query in IE which it did not do previously
- displays the following error before exiting:

Run Time Error '-2147417848 (80010108)':
Automation error
The object invoked has disconnected from its clients

Now my knowledge of the VBA dev environment is even less than my knowledge of VBA itself, so apologies if it's something straightforward. However I'd appreciate any help you can give me out there. Is it an environment variable that needs setting?

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Thanks Mr O, you were right. Sorry about the delay getting back.

Do you have a line of code that will detect the OS and set or reset the protection status if it's Vista?
