Auto backup.

In word you have the facility to auto save a file say every 10 minutes. Is the same facility available for excel. If so where and how

Yes... see the AutoSave add-in.

thats a quick reply is the auto save add in loaded from the disk. If so I do not have access to a disk. I am using a works computer which is resticted on usage.

Auto_Save should load in the tools addin fron the menu bar

Box will appear and scroll tick autosave.. if not there then ?? I seem to recall will be default.. edit to time reqd toos autosave when loaded will appear.

If not on, dick will have it.. scan to fine, else Microsoft HomePage has this add in im sure to download.
