Hello I am wondering if anyone could help me in finding out how to convert eg. 140degrees 23minutes and 12seconds into a decimal degree measure
any help would be appreciated

Hi Ozzy:
Just for this conversion
=140+23/60+12/3600
=140.3867

You would rather write a formula to generalize it!
